Almost two months passed since the inauguration of Expo 2020 Dubai last 1st October. So far, the site has welcomed more than 4 million visitors.

November boosted the visits thanks to the special offer on the entry pass and multiple sports, music and cultural initiatives.

The most attractive events this month have been the sold-out Expo Run on November 21st, which gathered 10.000 runners, the family run with Usain Bolt, concerts and performances by famous singers from Pakistan and Egypt. The upcoming FIDE World Chess Championship started on November 24th is expected to bring many visitors.

Also, many are the activities and attractions scheduled to celebrate the UAE’s National Day in the first weekend of December.

Expo 2020 Dubai is the first ever Expo where all 192 nations in the world are represented (as designated by the UN) with their own specially designed pavilion, regardless of their geography or political, economic and cultural influence.

Most Visited Pavilion

The most visited ones are India, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Pakistan, Russia, South Korea and Italy, of course, with more than 500.000 visitors since the opening and 5 million virtual visitors through the website and social media.

Italian Pavilion

Under the theme “Beauty connects People” the Italian pavilion also focuses on the concept of reusable design and circular economy. Most architectural elements are recycled or recyclable, reused or reusable.

Organic elements such as orange peel and coffee grounds were used in the construction materials. Instead of conventional walls, nautical ropes delineate the space, creating a natural air conditioning system through shading, misting and ventilation.

At the center of the pavilion stands a 11 meters-high (same height as the original) 3D-printed replica of the famous David of Michelangelo.

Italy Expo Day

On November 24th Expo was celebrated Italy National Day with cultural, entertainment and sports events, workshops, high-profile institutional meetings and a concert by the Accademia della Scala.

During the past weeks the pavilion hosted artists such as Ludovico Einaudi, Andrea Bocelli, Francesco De Gregori and Antonello Venditti to name a few.

A new start thanks to Expo 2020 Dubai

Expo 2020 Dubai is the first global event attracting such huge crowds after the pandemic.

Dubai welcomed 2.8 million visitors from January to July 2021 and the number has increased exponentially since October: compared to the same period in 2019 the monthly volume of the bookings to Dubai increased by 40%.

Italy and the UAE have always had strong economic relations and Italy is the UAE’s eighth largest trade partner globally. Italy saw 377 billion euros’ worth of exports in the first nine months of 2021, compared to 356 billion euros in the same period in 2019.

During the next semester Dubai will be the place to-be: after a tough 2020, finally people from all over the world will be brought together and will have the opportunity to share ideas and projects.
