His Highness Dr. Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah spoke at the opening ceremony of the International Government Communication Forum on 04 March 2020

IGCF is one of the key initiatives by the Sharjah Government Media Bureau.

IGCF

It was first launched in 2012, and since then it has been organized annually. IGCF is the first-of-its-kind platform in the region that brings together global government communication experts to explore best practices in the field.

Since its inauguration, the forum has redefined the communication landscape in the Arab world and internationally with its path-breaking discussions and recommendations that have tangibly impacted communication policies at the regional and international levels.

This year, the forum will feature a session on the mysteries of the human mind – the product of nearly half a century of research into the realities of human capabilities in influencing lifestyle, health, happiness and overall well-being.

“Communication has to serve the people and encourage dialogue”,

His Highness Shaikh Dr Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, said while opening the 9th International Government Communication Forum (IGCF) on Wednesday.

“Communication must be directed towards informing the people, encouraging dialogue, bringing positive changes in fields of health, education and security, and making the delivery of public services more transparent and effective through the use of right media channels,”

Shaikh Sultan said in his speech.

The Sharjah Ruler emphasized successful public communication involves various sectors and not just the government. “People in charge of internal and external communications in companies, journalists, PR professionals, website designers, media figures should carry out the responsibilities,” he underlined.
